First, I’m reading Beast (Avon Romantic Treasure)
In print, I’m reading an old book off my shelves, something I never read before and once started, I am so sucked in. If you live in Dallas, you really need to read this book, The Accommodation: The Politics of Race in an American City
• What did you recently finish reading?
Garden books. Lots of garden books. The newest one is Howard Garrett’s Texas Bug Book: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
Sunday I mentioned Monsanto University Texas A&M’s connection to Satan Monsanto. Someday I may get into all the things that make Monsanto evil but today is not the day. All I can say at this point is that it is sheer coincidence that this book by premier organic gardening activist, the Dirt Doctor, Howard Garrett, is published by The University of Texas Press. Honestly, I had no idea until the book landed in my mailbox.
But I will never pass up an opportunity to say, “Hook ‘em, baby!”

I still haven’t read the books below, even though they’re been books I’ve really wanted to read for quite awhile now, so I will probably choose one of them. e and I will probably make it next.

I’ve had a Discovery of Witches on my TBR list for ages. I even borrowed it from my mom over a year ago, and never got a chance to read it before she took it back to read it because a friend of hers was telling her to move it up on her reading list. So I need to get it back again. hehe

I don’t know why that happens but it does–books that I really want to read somehow never seem to be the book I want to read right now.

been sick, so I’ve been reading a lot and letting the house fall apart…several of Susan Mallery’s fool’s gold books, several regency ebooks, other ebooks from vicki lewis thompson and lori austin (handeland), plus some ebook freebies, and I just started a print book by Kristan Higgins, Somebody to Love, an ARC of Gwyn Cready’ snew book (not allowed to give details because I have to do reviews for the chance read the ARC) and her publisher just pushed back the date and there may be a name&cover change, and a manuscript of a WIP by author Jen Vido, a dear friend. Whew–that’s a lot.

You’re books sound great, too. The Witch book is enticing and THE ACCOMMODATION … reminds me of a grad level course I took in college that was very interesting , Politics of Race, but dealt more with desegregation of schools. BEAST would be a great historical read–for some reason I never read Edwardian era stories…must correct that. So glad you found a non-satanic gardening book. lol.
I am really enjoying The Accommodation. It explains SO much to a lifelong Dallasite who was too young (or unborn) to know this stuff.
I love it when an unexpected treasure (a book you really, really want to read) drops in your lap and you have to stop everything a read it! Enjoy! I have Matched sitting on my bookshelf, I need to get it read.

You’ll like Matched, I think. I only read YA occasionally but that one did pull me in quickly, and I’m looking forward to Crossed. The only reason I haven’t read it already is I prefer to read it on Kindle and it wasn’t available yet when I tried.
